This years Florensis Fleur Garden Flower Trials®, was resounding success, Guests visited the main nursery site situated in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht Netherlands from June 15th to 18th 2010. The event received an outstanding visitor record. The visitor figures increased by more than 10 % to more than 1200 guests.
Florensis together with Graines Voltz and Silze presented their main articles, Including the compact Petunia Limbo Series, Perfectly formed hanging baskets of Petunia Blanket® as well as the colourful varieties of Petunia Viva®. Florensis’ source of inspiration were the different marketing solutions for the Viva® Series which have been specially designed for the variety and will be available for the coming 2011 season.
Revolutionary novelties for 2011
The two revolutionary novelties that attracted the special attention of the visitors, Were the Petunia Mystical Series which is without a doubt a breakthrough in the field of petunia breeding – the Florensis exclusive varieties enrich the assortment by using so far unknown colours, among them was the variety ‘Black Velvet’ which with deep black flower guests immediately realised the great potential of the new selections: Without any doubt Mystical will provoke impulse buying in the seasons to come!
The seed-propagated Echinacea PowWowTM Series sets a new standard in the field of perennials by its compact habit and the good branching. Florensis perfectly set the Echinacea in a prairie landscape, remembering its natural origin, framed picturesquely by two original tepees, the two varieties of the PowWowTM Series won the visitors by the brilliant deep pink and respectively white flowers which appear in the first year of cultivation with the plant staying in flower till the autumn.

The extensive perennial comparison trial which included a lot of the varieties in the first year of flowering attracted a lot of interest. Florensis provided as usual a comprehensive overview of the summer-pot business.
All about young-plant cultivation
Tours around the site lead many of the professionals working within Florensis offered a profound insight into the young-plant production. Employees of the set departments explained the different cultivation processes from sowing or sticking of cuttings to the transport and were ready to answer the questions of interest from the visitors. In a particular the cyclamen tour showed extensive production steps of the cyclamen cultivation, Visitors were shown the sowing to sorting of seedlings all the way up to the hardening of the ready plants.
