Who are you and what do you do at Nijssen?
I am Jordi Mol and working at Nijssen for four years as a Technical Engineer in the sales department. This means that I develop customer requests and/or specifications and outline technical designs, which form the basis for my calculations and quotations. In addition, I am involved as a project manager from the sales department for the projects in progress.
What is you responsibility at the Florensis construction project?
Together with my colleague Rien Dankers (work preparation) we ensure the proper execution of the work we do for the new location in Dinteloord. This concerns the realization of a number of cooling and climate cells and a central cooling installation to condition these cells and the processing hall. We take care of the procurement of components, coordination of activities with other parties and of course the monitoring of the budget and the planning.
Nijssen has designed a central cooling installation based on the changing cooling and heat demand for the various parts of the new building.
What makes this project different from others?
In consultation with Florensis and consultancy firm AAB NL, Nijssen has designed a central cooling installation based on the changing cooling and heat demand for the various parts of the new building. Our cooling installation is designed in such a way that high energy efficiency can be achieved in both full load and part load situations. The cooling installation is also equipped with heat recovery, so that the residual heat from the cooling installation can be reused. This heat and cold is used, among other things, for cooling or heating the cells in the processing hall, for conditioning the other rooms in the building and for heating the greenhouse. All this with the aim of meeting the changing cooling and heat demand for various purposes in the new building in the most energy-efficient way possible.
What has been the biggest challenge?
To realize all work within the set deadlines. In addition, coordination with all other parties within this project was a major challenge. In view of the many interfaces between the various components (offices, processing hall, climate cells, greenhouse) with other parties, everything must be coordinated very precisely.
How do you describe your relationship with Florensis?
The people who are involved in this construction project of Florensis know what they are doing, which makes it easy to coordinate all sorts of things during construction. In addition, they are willing to find a joint solution to the challenges we encounter. In short, a pleasant party to do business with. We are therefore proud to be part of this construction project!
