"A controlled habit, early flowering and early finishing make growing Bluesette for the consumer and landscape market super easy." - Marjolein Kuyucu-Lodder, International Product Marketeer Florensis
A new favourite
Cocreated with PanAmerican Seed, Perovskia Bluesette was first introduced at the Florensis FlowerTrials® in week 24. Bluesette is a breakthrough in the development of Perovskia breeding. It is the first and only compact branching and early Perovskia from seed and a true alternative to vegetative varieties. Being a strong performer with great flowering appeal from summer into early autumn, Bluesette features ornamental foliage and a pleasing fragrance that attracts bees and butterflies. A controlled habit, early flowering and early finishing make growing Bluesette for the consumer and landscape market super easy. A perfect blue addition to your perennial programme, Bluesette easily becomes everybody’s darling.
The New Blues
Bluesette is named after a relatively unknown jazz reference. Marjolein, International Product Marketeer at Florensis explains: “A bit like Perovskia, it’s the known unknown for most gardeners, a uniquely compact blue alternative next to the well-known blue varieties. Bluesette is part of an innovative concept named The New Blues. Here we take a traditional product and make it more suitable for consumers.” Other products that fit into the innovative New Blues concept are Geranium Bloom Me Away®, Veronica Anniversary and Salvia Mirage™ Blue. All products must be insect friendly, season extenders, drought tolerant and winter hardy. True-blue star Perovskia Bluesette has a short lead time which creates high value for growers. A traditional variety for the visual attractive market!

A match made for retail
Perovskia Bluesette performs well on a retail display. Compared to big sister Blue Steel, the compactness of Bluesette makes it an attractive retail choice. Especially for shops with a more limited space. We developed a matching New Blues branding kit so that retailers can get maximum in-store exposure. By making a mixed trolley combination with other innovative blue flowered plants, Florensis offers a higher value for multiple products, instead of just one high quality product that may not be recognised at the point of sale. You can request POS material like labels and banners for CC trolleys. For advice or a personalised offer please contact your Florensis representative.
Florensis strives to be the most reliable, innovative and sustainable breeder and propagator to be associated with. Solid partnerships, like with PanAmerican Seed, bring added value to the whole chain, from grower to consumer. As Florensis we are always on top of launching new innovative products with strong genetics like Perovskia Bluesette and Geranium Bloom Me Away®.
